Free Peer Tutoring Services
Get the Academic Help You Need to Succeed in ECE
Feeling stuck on a circuit problem? Need a new perspective on a confusing concept from lecture? IEEE-Eta Kappa Nu is here to help.
The Omicron Chapter of HKN offers free, walk-in peer tutoring for all University of Minnesota students enrolled in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) courses. This service is a core part of our mission to give back to the academic community and support our fellow students.
Our tutors are current HKN members who have excelled in the ECE core curriculum. They provide insightful assistance based on their own success in the classes you are taking now. (Please note: Tutors have strong foundational knowledge but may not have taken every specific elective; if one tutor can't help, they can often direct you to someone who can.)
1. Where to Find Us (Two Ways to Get Help)
We offer tutoring in two distinct formats to accommodate your needs. You can visit us in person or connect with us digitally.
In-Person: The ECE Learning Center (Keller Hall 2-276)
We are a primary partner of the ECE Learning Center. This space is the main hub for undergraduate academic support within the department. If you arrive and cannot find a tutor, please email us with the specific time of your visit so we can investigate.
Digital: The Omicron Chapter Discord
For flexible help, late-night questions, or virtual assistance, join our active chapter Discord server. We have dedicated tutoring channels where you can ask quick questions or even jump into a voice/screen-share session with an available tutor.
